I'm an academic with business experience: I graduated Economics in 1995 from York University in the UK, then worked with European Commission programmes as part of the Timisoara Chamber of Commerce's European Integration Department. I worked in my own business selling long-distance discount telecommunications services, did business consulting and helped set up a software development company.

I have a strong interest in Information Technology and the way it affects our lives both at work and at home (thus my PhD in Teleworking, or Telecommuting, as they call it in the States, or eWork as it's also known).

I also took a Master's course in Social Policy at a research centre in Luxembourg and at Katholieke Universiteit Leuven in Belgium. Nowadays I work with the Marketing Department at the West University of Timisoara and I am always looking to network with people whose interests match mine. With them and through them, I seek ways to enrich my experience and realize more of everyone's potential.

Also active as a consultant, I have worked on a number of interesting projects looking at various industries and facilitating clients' business development and strategy-building exercises through quality market research and prospecting.

Another of my skills began as a hobby and eventually added another dimension to my activity: I am also a freelance translator from Romanian into English. I often do work which amounts to trans-creation rather than simple translation.

My personality profile  indicates that the following attributes most likely describe me well:
